This is designed primarily as a wall mounted rack, however it can be used in a free-standing location. For units in this free-standing positions stacking another unit on top is NOT possible. Additional units can only be attached when mounted to a wall. Please see zoom for an image where an additional unit is connected. Each CD rack comes with these brackets..should you decide to add another unit and connect them together.
